Welcome to the Positive Approach to the Care of the Older Person eLearning Program.

Clinical judgement, assessment, management and care delivery to the older person.

To participate in a course here, you will need to create an account. If you're not feeling confident you can download a 'cheat sheet' to help you through the account creation and login process. All courses are facilitated and require an enrollment key provided by the course facilitator.

To start the program you can either scroll down to the link "Module 1 - Why Come on this Learning Journey" or press the green button below, which will take you to the start of Module 1.

Certificate of Completion

This is how you get your certificate once you have completed at least 4 modules of the course. You'll need to obtain a password from your course facilitator to take the Certificate Qualification lesson. If you score better than 80% in this lesson you will be redirected to the Certificate Gateway lesson where you will be asked about your participation. Once you satisfy all the criteria you can download your certificate.

This is the final module in the Acute Care Course.
This short module will discuss how we can implement change in our workplaces and how our learning might change professional practice, values and attitudes
Person Centred Care in the Community

This is a stand alone module for community workers. People undertaking the Acute Care course are not required to complete this module.
This module is directed towards assisting you to develop a deep understanding of the importance of working in a person centred way in community settings. In order to put the person with the dementia at the heart of your work in this field, you will need to understand all of the supports and opportunities that your community has to offer people with dementia and their carers. We hope that this module will give you the knowledge you need, and inspire you to connect the people you care for into their communities in enriching ways.
